I would like to introduce my business and myself. I am Becky Carr the owner and operator of Hillside Happy Tails which I established in December of 2006 in South Anchorage, Alaska.

I worked as a geologist in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado before I decided to be a full-time mother. In 1987, I moved to Anchorage, Alaska with my husband, two young daughters, two big dogs and two cats and have lived on the Hillside ever since.

I have always loved animals. As a young girl, I spent my summers in Colorado on horse back. Along with horses, I had dogs, cats, birds, rats, rabbits, snakes, toads, guinea pigs, turtles and fish at different times. It has always been important to me to take good care of them all.

Living in Alaska, I have enjoyed walking and caring for friend’s dogs when they have been out of town or didn’t have time to walk them themselves. I feel strongly about dogs getting lots of exercise. I also feel strongly about animal welfare and helping people provide their pets with the best care. This passion lead me to my current career as a professional pet-sitter and dog-walker.

My husband Mark works for the U.S. Geological Survey. He loves mountain running and takes the young dogs staying at Hillside Happy Tails (that qualify) for longer runs in the mountains on the weekends.

Holly started walking dogs for us in June 2010. She has lived in Alaska for 11 years and is a dog lover and outdoor enthusiast. She has been a nurse for 30 years, specializing in Obstetrics. Her experience with dogs aside from family pets has been in caring for and walking dogs for friends and volunteering at Anchorage Animal Control. She says, "Walking dogs for Hillside Happy Tails and spending time with dogs that are loved and well cared for is a great pleasure".

We are dedicated to the well-being of our client’s pets. We offer excellent pet care.

Becky is a member of Pet Sitters International and trained in First Aid for Pets.
